'Written Off?'
8 x 24 mins for RTÉ One
Written Off? follows the stories of a number of people with literacy difficulties as they attend a special live-in workshop for eight weeks. The series is a total departure from traditional education programmes. It is a personal transformation series that focuses on the journey of each individual person. It is a fresh, honest, often moving and insightful look at how we cope with having to learn basic skills many of us take for granted. One in four adults in Ireland have difficulties with basic reading and writing skills, enough to effect their everyday lives.
